Kanyakumari: There has been an uproar over the upcoming elections in the states, for the Lok Sabha by-election to be held in Kanyakumari on April 6, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday started campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party and expressed confidence that the party Not only will it win here, but the NDA will also succeed in the next month's Assembly elections. Starting the election campaign from Susindram in the city, Amit Shah said that he was confident that after the April 6 election, the NDA would win and form a coalition government.

The seat of the Lok Sabha was vacated after the death of Congress MP H Vasant Kumar from Corona last year. In the by-elections for this seat, the Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated former Union Minister P Radhakrishnan. Amit Shah said that he visited 11 houses to deliver the message of PM Narendra Modi. He said that we have started a campaign to take the lotus house to house, the symbol of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

With that, he continued saying 'I am confident that (after the assembly elections) the AIADMK, BJP, and PMK coalition government will be formed.' Amit Shah also urged the public to make Radhakrishnan successful and said that the party needed him. Amit Shah distributed pamphlets for the by-elections, met people, and photographed some people. Radhakrishnan won the 2014 parliamentary elections from Kanyakumari and became the Minister of State in the Modi government. He lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha election to a Congress candidate who passed away last year due to the corona.
