Cinema is not just about watching movies on the celluloid but much more than that.
Well, in the current scenario, the digital media is paving it’s way into the field of entertainment.
The audience has has got an easy access to online streaming platforms and the original content. Actor, director and producer, Karan Johar feels that digital medium is both, a boon and a bane. He said that it’s good as it pushes the writers to come up with new and original content but he also feels that this medium is a dance to the experience of watching the film on the big screen. The audience has too many options to choose from on the digital platform. They can either choose to watch a series or can also opt for a digital film.
Karan asserted, “Let's look at the positive side. Today we have many more verticals of entertainment. Digital is the new addition and it provides a platform to writers, storytellers, actors. On the flip side, it does pose a threat to the footfalls to the cinema and that is where we have to up our game. That is the challenge and that will only improve our content.”
