Bhopal: In a poignant ceremony held at the Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid his heartfelt tributes to the valiant martyrs of the Kargil conflict on the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas. 

CM Chouhan expressed his deep respect for the soldiers who gave their all, representing the people of the state. Their sacrifices led to the liberation of our country from its adversaries, a fact that fills us all with immense pride. Our soldiers have proven that anyone who dares to threaten Mother India will face the full might of our forces.

Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has grown into a glorious and powerful nation, even achieving the status of a superpower. The CM further acknowledged the bravery of all our soldiers, with the three divisions of the Indian Armed Forces diligently safeguarding the nation. Their unwavering dedication is a source of pride for every citizen.

On the day before the commemoration event at Lamochen, Drass, the Army held a press briefing that featured an audio-visual recollection of the battles fought during the Kargil conflict in 1999. The conflict brought the Indian Army face to face with Pakistani intruders in the treacherous heights of Kargil. Over two arduous months, the Indian Army successfully drove back the intruders from their strategic positions, raising our Tricolour high with triumph.

The battlefield encompassed the Dras, Kargil, and Batalik sectors of the Kargil district, where our brave soldiers displayed unmatched courage against all odds. In a serene and picturesque backdrop of the mountains, a somber commemoration ceremony honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict. The military band's solemn tunes resonated with the gathered soldiers, war heroes, Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and the families of the fallen soldiers, who stood strong and dedicated to their duty even in the face of adversity.
