PM Modi and other leaders pay tributes to martyrs on 22nd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas

New Delhi: The country is celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas today. Today is the day to remember the history of the crushing defeat that the Ranabankurs of India had defeated Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the bravery of the Indian Army. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, "Today, on Kargil Day, we pay homage to all the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. Their bravery inspires us every day."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also tweeted on the occasion. In his tweet, he wrote, "On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, I salute the indomitable bravery, valour and sacrifice of the Indian Army." A video clip was also attached with the tweet. Apart from him, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also paid homage to the martyrs on the occasion. In fact, he has written in his tweet: "Heartiest tribute to every fighter who gave his life in the dignity of our tricolour. We will always remember this supreme sacrifice of you and your families for the security of the country. Jai Hind. #KargilVijayDiwas''

A special tweet was also issued by the Indian Army on the occasion of Vijay Diwas today. You can see the Army tweeted a few lines of Tamanna B Kukreti. The tweet reads, "On the peaks of Kargil, we have bowed down to the enemies, the heroes of India have unfurled the tricolour with their blood."
