Bangalore: This 80-year-old man's health started deteriorating after taking the first dose of corona vaccine in Karnataka's capital Bengaluru, now the elderly man has died. He was given the first dose of the corona vaccine in March. The elderly had fallen unconscious and went into a coma after taking the dose. After which he died. The elderly had taken the first dose of the corona vaccine in the first week of March. After that, he has a fever.
The elderly were residents of South Bengaluru. He had been having fever since taking the first dose of the vaccine in March and had been possessing problems in walking. Then one day he fell unconscious at home. Doctors said his blood platelet count had come down to more than 20,000 at that time. He was then admitted to the hospital on March 23. The elderly later went into a coma. Bleeding was also befalling from his brain. However, the health department has not yet admitted that the cause of death of the elderly was the vaccine itself or any other health problem.
Dr. B.N. Rajni, State Deputy Director of Immunization in the State, said, "The hospital is yet to decide whether it is really a case of AEFI (Adverse Event after Immunization) or something else." He said that the committee is scheduled to meet on Monday on this issue.
