BENGALURU: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka celebrated the success of the saffron party in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa on Thursday. Ministers and legislators exchanged sweets among themselves in the office of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai after the results reaffirmed a large lead for the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

Minister for Revenue R. Ashok, in a dig at the Congress, said: "According to polling data, Congress leaders should embark on a 'theerth yatra' (pilgrimage) rather than a 'padayatra.' The BJP is on its way to a resounding triumph. It has won a majority in four of the five states where elections have been held "he stated.

People said that there is a close race in Uttar Pradesh, but the BJP is continuing its winning streak. He claimed that the Congress was only surviving in the Punjab state of the country, which it had shamefully lost. B.C. Nagesh, Minister of Education, B. Sriramulu, and legislators all expressed their gratitude for the party's outstanding performance.

"This is a development win and a success in the national interest," stated V. Somanna, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development. The election results in five states showed a shift in public opinion in favour of the BJP. This result is favourable to Yogi Adityanath, and it also portends future developments, he said.
