Rahul Gandhi a 'drug addict, peddler': Says Karnataka BJP state president

Bangalore: A statement by Karnataka BJP unit president Nalin Kumar Katil has sparked a new controversy. Nalin Kumar Katil on Tuesday said, 'Who is Rahul Gandhi? I am not saying that. Rahul Gandhi is a drugs addict and a drug peddler. It came to the media. You cannot run the party also. Nalin Kumar's reaction comes after a tweet from the Karnataka Congress that called PM Narendra Modi a thumb impression. The tweet was made in Kannada.

After this tweet, there was an uproar here. However, Karnataka Congress unit president DK Shivakumar had later said that the controversial tweet about PM Modi was removed from his Twitter account by the party's social media team. The Congress leader had also said that it was a novice's fault. In the tweet, DK Shivakumar wrote, "I have always believed that political discussion must have a civil and parliamentary language. The rude tweet from a novice social media manager through the official Twitter handle of the Karnataka Congress is regrettable and has been deleted.''

On the other hand, DK Shivakumar has once again reacted on social media following Nalin Kumar's statement. He said, "In the past, I had said that I must be a citizen and parliamentary language in political discussion. Even from our opposition. I hope the BJP also believes it with me and will definitely apologize for its state president's statement on Rahul Gandhi.''
