Bangalore: Bengaluru's capital, Bangalore, has been wreaking havoc on people for several days. Life has become disrupted due to rain. After heavy rains last night, waterlogging occurred in many places including Hosakerehalli area. The rains were so devastating that vehicles were submerged in many areas and rainwater entered people's homes. In some areas, waterlogging took place on the roads. The low-lying areas turned into ponds due to waterlogging.
The Chief Minister's Office of Karnataka (CMO) has reported that, in view of heavy rains in Bangalore yesterday, CM BS Yeddyurappa has directed BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad to visit the water areas and watch the situation. Earlier on Thursday, CM BS Yeddyurappa visited the flood-affected areas. He said that the flood situation this year was more severe than in the previous year and the Center has been made aware of it.
CM Yeddyurappa said that the state has no shortage of funds and the affected families have already been given financial assistance of Rs 10,000. Apart from this, more compensation will be given this time as per last year's compensation.
