Mumbai: The dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka over the border is increasing. In fact, the Belgaum visit of Maharashtra leaders was opposed by many pro-Kannada organizations in Karnataka. Buses were also vandalized. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis discussed this with Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai over the phone. He also expressed strong displeasure over the incident that took place at Hirebagwadi near Belgaum.
On the attack on buses from Maharashtra in Belgaum, Karnataka, Sharad Pawar said that Maharashtra has acted with a lot of patience and understanding. But if these attacks do not stop in the next 24 hours and people adopt another method, then the CM of Karnataka will be responsible for it. Not only this, he said that he will also request MPs from Maharashtra to discuss with the Home Minister during the winter session.
On the other hand, Karnataka CM Bommai said that strict action will be taken against the culprits after seeing these incidents. He assured Devendra Fadnavis that vehicles coming from Maharashtra will be protected. The Belgaum visit of Maharashtra leaders was opposed by several pro-Kannada organizations in Karnataka. Regarding this, the District Magistrate said that the situation in the district has become serious. It will be difficult for the district if Maharashtra leaders are allowed inside. Therefore, their entry has been banned. Earlier, Devendra Fadnavis had said, "No village of Maharashtra will go to Karnataka. Our government will fight strongly in the Supreme Court to get Marathi-speaking villages like Belgaum, Nippani, and Karawar in Karnataka.'' Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai called it a provocative statement and said, "His (Fadnavis's) dream will never be fulfilled. Our government is committed to protecting the land, water, and border of the state.''
