BANGALORE: Monday marked the start of the first legislative session of the newly elected Karnataka Legislative Assembly, and Congress MLA for the Mandya constituency Ravi Ganiga made a stunning entry to the Legislative Assembly on a bullock cart. People are speculating over whether the Congress leader came from his constituency, which is about 100kilometerss from Bangalore, after seeing images of his entrance on social media.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot swore in senior Congressman RV Deshpande as the pro-term Speaker on Monday to kick off the Karnataka Assembly's session. During the three-day session, all 224 MLAs will take the oath of office, and the newly elected MLAs will also choose a permanent Speaker of the House.
