Karnataka court sent three Kashmiri students to jail over raising slogan in support of Pakistan

Bangalore: In the Hubli district of Karnataka, there has been a case of three Kashmiri students shouting slogans in support of Pakistan. After its video surfaced, many Hinduist organizations and lawyers staged a massive protest outside the KLES Institute of Technology. Seeing the escalation, the police took the accused three Kashmiri students into custody. After this, the court sent the three to judicial custody till March 2.

Karnataka Police has arrested these three Kashmiri students in the past. A video of these students went viral on social media, in which they were shouting slogans in support of Pakistan. Later, after filling a bond under Section 169 of CRPC, the three students were released. After this, on Sunday, the three students were arrested. Before being taken to jail, Hubli's Police Commissioner Ramaswamy Dilip said that the three suspects are being questioned on Friday for pro-Pakistan and pro-independence slogans.

All three have been identified as Amir, Basit and Talib. They are residents of Shopian district of Kashmir. A case has been registered under Section 124 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for trying to disturb community harmony by raising anti-country slogans on the complaint of KLES Institute of Technology. This section deals with crimes against the state.
