New Delhi: The ineligible MLAs from Karnataka had sought an early hearing from the Supreme Court, but the court refused. The Supreme Court asked you to approach the registry for listing of the first case. The MLAs were disqualified under the defection law by the then Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar. The MLAs have challenged the speaker's order in the Supreme Court.

A single bench of justices Arun Mishra said that the petition will be examined by the Registrar first. It is worth mentioning here that on August 1, 15 Congress-JDS legislators had moved the Supreme Court against the speaker's order. All these MLAs have been disqualified for the entire term of the Assembly.

In the petition, the Legislators have termed the July 28 order of the speaker as completely unconstitutional. In the petition, the legislators said that his resignation was voluntary. The Kumaraswamy government in Karnataka collapsed after 14 months after 17 Congress and JDS MLAs resigned last month. Kumaraswamy could not prove majority during the trust vote. The BJP then formed the government in Karnataka and Yeddyurappa became the CM.
