Bangalore: The campaign for the Karnataka Assembly elections to be held on May 10 is at its peak these days. On the other hand, the rapid raids of the Income Tax and Police Department are also going on. Acting on a specific information, the Karnataka Police on Thursday raided a private villa in Bangarapet taluk of Kolar district and seized over Rs 4 crore in cash. The seized amount has been found from the villa and a vehicle parked outside the villa.

According to media reports, KGF Police under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Dharani Devi has recovered unaccounted cash of Rs. 4,04,94,500 The money was allegedly kept for distribution among voters. Meanwhile, according to the information that is coming out, the villa was rented by a person named Ramesh Yadav for the last two years.

At the time when this raid was done, no one was present in the villa. Election observers had also reached the spot along with the police team. At present, the police have registered the case and further investigation is going on. According to the police, this money was kept for distribution among the voters.
