Shivamogga: A major accident has occurred in Shivamogga in Karnataka last night. An explosion has reported a lot of damage to the houses. A total of 8 people died in the incident so far. Talking about the case, the police said that the blast was due to dynamite, though it is still being thoroughly investigated. In addition, police also said "two bodies have been recovered so far."

Local police have reported that the area where the accident occurred was about 5 km from Shivamogga town. There was a sudden loud sound around 10.30 p.m. last Thursday night. Only then did the local people complain. Regarding the case, a police official said that the blast occurred in a truck in which gelatin was present. According to him, 6 labourers in the same truck have died, and the impact of the blast has been seen in nearby houses.

There are reports that Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has issued a high level inquiry into the matter, and at the same time, he has asked for stringent punishment for the culprits. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over the incident in Shivamogga. In a tweet on behalf of the PMO, it has been written, "Saddened by the lives of the incident in Shivamogga. Condolences to the family of all the deceased. Those who are injured pray for their speedy recovery. All help is being provided on behalf of the State Government. ’
