Bangalore: The floor test is possible today in the Karnataka Assembly. A number of petitions are also under consideration in the Supreme Court on the Karnataka case, which is likely to be heard today. After the political crisis that has elapsed since the resignation of 15 MLAs of the Congress-JDS-led government, the vote of confidence was debated in the Assembly on Thursday and Friday last week.

Later, Speaker Ramesh Kumar adjourned the House till Monday. In the state, THE BSP MLA N Mahesh has been ordered by party supremo Mayawati to vote in favour of the government. Earlier, it was said that he would abstain from the trust vote.

In Karnataka, 15 rebel Congress and JD(S) MLAs and two independents filed a joint petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday seeking an order to conduct a power test in the Assembly on Monday. The petitioner MLAs have asked the court to direct Speaker K R Ramesh and CM H D Kumaraswamy to hold a trust vote by 5 pm on Monday.
