Bengaluru: People are shifted to safe places in the event of natural disaster. But there is no permanent arrangement to accommodate such people here. To overcome the shortage of this system, such multi-storey buildings will be constructed for temporary residence of flood affected people in Kodagu, Raichur, Udupi, Karwar and Yadgir districts of the state. For this, a grant of ten-ten crores will be released. Revenue Minister R Ashok gave this information.
The Revenue Minister said that according to the Meteorological Department, this year too, due to excessive rains in many districts of the state, the possibility of flooding has been expressed. 1980 such villages have been identified in Atharah districts of the state, where there is a situation of transferring people in case of floods. A project to rehabilitate the residents of these villages has now been shifted to other safe areas.
R Ashok further said that due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, a large number of water is being released from Koyna and Rajapur Dam, as a result of which thousands of people of more than 1700 villages of Raichur, Yadagiri, Kalburgi district have been transferred. Can. For this, the local district administration has started preparations. At the same time, 1740 buildings of school, college have been identified to stop people of such area. Last year, 19 districts of the state were affected by floods. After this, Kodagu district administration has also been instructed to be prepared to avoid floods. The NDRF squad has already been deployed here. In view of the landslide cases in the district, special monitoring is being done in such areas.
