Govt issues circular, know these rules before traveling to Karnataka by train

Bangalore: The entire country is now facing the threat of delta plus, the new variant of coronavirus. The highest number of delta plus cases have been reported in the western state of Maharashtra. In view of this, Railways have issued advisories to all railway passengers from Maharashtra to Karnataka. The Karnataka government has issued a circular to prevent infection from increasing in the state, under which passengers coming from Maharashtra to Karnataka will have to show their corona negative test report, which should not be more than 72 hours old, as well as at least a dose of corona vaccination certificate.

Passengers on a train from Maharashtra to Karnataka are urged to bring their corona test negative report, which is not more than 72 hours old, the Central Railway sector said in a statement. Passengers will also have to show at least one dose of the corona vaccination certificate. Meanwhile, Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday that the exemption on covid restrictions in the state will be discussed with experts and cabinet members and will be announced after July 5.

The health department said Karnataka has registered 3,382 new cases of corona infection and 111 deaths on Wednesday. At the same time, the number of infection cases in the state has increased to 28,43,810 and that of corona deaths to 35,040. The number of active cases in the state at present is 76,505. In the last 24 hours, 12,763 patients have recovered from the disease in the state and so far the number of corona healers in the state has gone up to 27,32,242. The department said the daily positivity rate in the state is 1.97 percent and the death rate is 3.28 percent.
