BENGALURU: Despite Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai's commitment to developing guidelines on the use of loudspeakers in the state, the Hindu organisations' agitation reached its second day on Tuesday.
Activists continued to play devotional prayers against 'azaan' at temples. Pramod Muthalik, the founder of the Sri Ram Sena, is hosting a two-day summit of Hindu organisations in Bengaluru starting May 11. According to sources, the meeting would be attended by more than 20 Hindu organisations.
They will walk about the legal action taken against mosques that employ loudspeakers, as well as the next steps. The agitation will intensify in the coming days, said Muthalik.
The ruling BJP government, according to Chief Minister Bommai, would issue an official order soon to execute the Supreme Court rules on the use of loudspeakers. He also stated that he will speak with the officials and make a decision.
"The use of loudspeakers has been ordered by the Supreme Court, the federal government, and the state government. The government has decided to carry out these instructions. He also emphasised that the instructions would be carried out in a friendly manner "said Bommai.
