Corona havoc on the rise in this state, may have full lockdown

The corona epidemic has created panic all over the country and the state government is considering a complete lockdown in the state from May 12, two weeks after the wake of the spurt in corona cases even after a week of the curfew was imposed in Karnataka. In fact, curfew is still imposed in the state. Due to this, many manufacturing and agriculture sectors with a capacity of 50 percent were allowed to continue functioning, but according to sources, the State Government is now considering a complete lockdown by abolishing these exemptions.

The cabinet met on Tuesday to discuss the outcome of the current curfew. Talking to reporters on the run, Chief Minister Yediyurappa said that the cabinet will take a look at the situation on May 12 and then decide on the possibility of a lockdown. Meanwhile, the situation in Bengaluru is getting worse. The positivity rate in the city reached an all-time high of 5.5 percent on Monday. While the active cases figure has crossed three lakh.

According to the same previous week, the positive rate in Bengaluru was 12 percent with 20,82,897 tests as compared to 2.31 percent against 13,78,753 tests in the month of March. The city had the highest negative rate since the epidemic at 23.8 percent in July. Talking about corona-infected people in the city, new cases of 20,870 corona infections were reported in Bengaluru on Tuesday. On the other hand, 132 persons died of the disease.
