BALLARY: The Karnataka region of Bellary is observing a bandh on Monday in protest of the brutal and horrific beheading of Hindu tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

To prevent any unfortunate incident during the bandh, strong security is in place in the district's vulnerable and hypersensitive locations.

From the Kanakadurgamma temple, BJP leaders and Hindu activists organised a bike rally across the city. The bikes were decorated with saffron colours, and protest signs against Kanhaiya Lal's murder were flown.

On Talur Road, demonstrators burned tyres while raising anti-Pakistani slogans. Due to the bandh, businesses, shops, theatres, hotels, and petrol pumps are closed.

Businesses establishments were forcibly shut down by the protesters in the Kaul Bazar and Radio Park areas. In light of the bandh call, private schools and institutions have already declared holidays.
