Bengaluru: Small buses are suitable for public transportation within city borders, thus Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai remarked on Tuesday that bringing in more minibuses for city service should be a top priority.
At a meeting to assess the Transport Agency's performance, he directed officials to provide buses from the department to the organisation that has offered to convert them to CNG buses.
The Chief Minister requested that officials undertake an extensive PR effort to raise public knowledge about the department's 30 online services that are available to the general public.
Bommai asked officials to examine the number of buses operating on existing routes, citing the fact that demand for buses is higher in rural areas. Bommai also requested that the officials give a report on the costs associated with bus repairs.
The meeting was attended by Transport Minister B Sriramulu, Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, and other top officials.
