Bangalore: The probe into phone tapping during the tenure of former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has now gone to the CBI court. In Karnataka, CM BS Yedurappa has recommended the CBI probe into the case. This case brought a landfall in the state politics. Several other leaders, including Congress Legislature Party leaders, have also demanded an inquiry. Former JDS leader AH Vishwanath has alleged that the former JDS Congress coalition government has tapped all of them's phones and tried to spy on them.

Vishwanath himself was a part of the former Kumaraswamy Government. However, he was disqualified from the Assembly after the revolt. Vishwanath was also the state head of jds. HD Kumaraswamy has denied any such allegations. Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah welcomed the CBI probe and expressed hope that the BJP will not use the Central probe agency in the spirit of political vendetta.

Meanwhile, Congress said on its official Twitter handle that telephone tapping is a lie and a conspiracy to hate politics. Former CM Kumaraswamy told the media that let him conduct any inquiry, whether it is a CBI inquiry or an international agency, or let him talk to Trump, and let him interrogate him through anybody. He also expressed disappointment over the media coverage in the matter.
