CM Amarinder says "Kartarpur Corridor will open after consulting Central Government"

During the Corona period, Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder Singh said that we have no objection to opening the Kartarpur Corridor but the final decision in this matter will be valid only by the Central Government. Hope has been raised in lakhs of devotees with his statement. If the central government asks for our advice in this matter, then we will say that following the social distance, Kartarpur Corridor should be opened. However, the captain also said that the spread of corona in Pakistan is high. So we have to pay attention to that as well.

India has turned down Pakistan's offer to open the Kartarpur corridor on June 29, refusing to allow movement across the border in view of the Corona crisis. India has clearly stated that movement between increasing cases cannot be allowed. Pakistan is trying to show its clear image to the world by opening the corridor for Sikh devotees on the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

The Central Government has bluntly said that the movement will be allowed only after consulting the health officials and other partners and reviewing the situation. The government argues that Pakistan has offered to open the corridor just two days before, while according to the bilateral agreement, the two countries have to inform each other seven days before the date of the visit so that the registration process can begin.
