The leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, M Karunanidhi has bid his last greetings to the world on Tuesday, the 7th of August, 2018.

He was definitely one of the most loved politicians of the state, yet his personal life had been under a lot of controversies.

Karunanidhi had 3 wives and 6 children, which is quite an amusing figure.

His son M. K. Stalin had been appointed as an MLA in Tamil Nadu for about 4 times.

His daughter Kanimozhi has been a nominated Member of the Parliament in the lower house.

His first wife was Padmavati, the second one was Dayalu Ammal and his third wife was Rajati Ammal. He has had 4 sons and 2 daughters. MK Mutthu was his son from his first wife, Padmavati. While, his sons, MK Alagiri, MK Stalin and MK Tamilrasu and his daughter Selvi were his children from his second wife, Dayalu Ammal. Kanimozhi is Karunanidhi’s daughter from his third wife, Rajati Ammal.

He had often been criticised for his attempts to encourage his family in different fields and for promoting nepotism.

After his death, there has been a cold war between his sons over the property issues.
