First story - There were seven brothers in a family, they had a dear sister named Chandravati. When she was at her marriage age, the brothers got her married into a good family. The sister observed the first Karvachauth vow after marriage. When the brothers started eating in the evening, they asked their sister to have food too, but Chandravati said that when the moon comes out, I will eat it only after that. Brothers loved her very much so they thought of a solution. They went away from the house and went behind the trees and created a scene resembling the moon burning. They came home and a brother stood up holding the sieve and started calling the sister to come quickly and see the moon.

Knowing the moon came out, the sister offered prayers to the moon and opened her fast. In this case, news came from her mother-in-law that her husband's health was very bad. Chandravati thought that I had not committed any such crime for which I am getting punished. In the whole world, wives are fasting for the long life of their husbands, but what happened to my husband that he became so ill. When she called the priest and asked the reason for this, the priest said that there must be some disturbance in the worship. The remedy for your husband's recovery is to start fasting on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha. Chandravati started doing the same. Chandravati's husband had a thorn disease.

Be sure to use these Vastu tips on Karvachauth otherwise...

She continued to remove thorns from her husband's body throughout the year. When only the thorns remained on the eyes, then the fast of Karvachauth came. She told her maid that I am going to take the goods for the Karvachauth vow, you take care of my husband. The housekeeper got greed in her mind. She removed the thorns left on Chandravati's husband's eyes. As soon as the husband realized, Chandravati's husband asked the maid, where is Chandravati? Then the maid said that she had gone for a walk. The husband understood that this woman has served me for a year.

Now this will be my lady. When Chandravati came back with the goods, her husband kicked her out of the house without hearing anything about it. The next year, when the fast of Karvachauth came, Chandravati started telling her own story at the time of worship. When her husband heard the whole story, he understood everything. He removed the maid and adopted Chandravati again. Thus, the euthanasia of Chandravati was protected. She prayed to Maa Parvati, O Mother Gauri, in the same way, that you protected my marriage, in the same way, may my marriage remain forever.

Traditional tale - In ancient times, a moneylender lived in the city of Inderprastha. He had seven sons and a daughter. The daughter's name was Veera. Veera was a sister of seven brothers. All the brothers loved their sister Veera very much. When Veera grew up, her father married her to a Brahmin named Sudarshan. After marriage, Veera started living happily. The fast of Karva Chauth falls on the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This was Veera's first Karvachauth after marriage and she came to observe the fast on her maternal house.

If there is a quarrel with husband over small matters, then do this remedy on Karwachauth

Veera kept fast with her sisters-in-law. During this fast, it is forbidden to use knives, knit anything or to peel anything, but after keeping the fast, she kept peeling ballads all day. This is how the whole day goes out and at night Veera's brother also comes home from work. When everyone started having food at night, her brother says to Veera that sister Veera should have dinner with us too, but Veera says to her brothers, today is my Karva Chauth fast and I will eat only by offering food to the moon. The situation of their hungry sister was not seen from the brothers.

They thought up an idea. They went out and gathered weeds, burnt the fire and carrying a sieve, showed light from it, they said to their sister, 'Sister! Sister, the moon has come out now take food by doing offerings. Hearing this, she said to her sisters-in-law, 'Come, you also worship to the moon.' the sister-in-law said, this is your moon, our moon has not arrived yet. In this way, Veera worshipped on seeing the moon from the sieve at the behest of the brothers. When she starts eating food with her brothers, the first bite comes with a hair, the second bite comes with stones and the third one comes with a call from her in-laws. They say that She should arrive early as her husband is very ill and Veera weeps and goes back to her home. After reaching her husbands’ home for the first time she found the dead body of her husband.

On seeing the dead body of her husband Veera started crying and blamed herself for committing some mistake during the fasting of Karwa Chauth. She started mourning inconsolably. On listening to her mourning Goddess Indrani, the wife of God Indra arrived to console Veera.

Veera asked Indrani why she got such a fate on the day of Karwa Chauth and begged to make her husband alive. On seeing the remorse of Veera, Goddess Indrani told her that she broke the fast without giving Argha (offering) to the moon and due to that her husband met an untimely death. Indrani advised Veera to observe Chauth fasting on each month throughout the year including the fasting of Karwa Chauth and assured that her husband would come back alive.

After that Veera observed monthly fasting with complete trust and all rituals. Finally due to accumulating Punya of those fastings Veera got her husband back.

Another story- Karva means 'tarnished'. Karwa was a bhilani. Shri Ganesh Maharaj is going to defeat everyone's sufferings. Only after seeing the grace of Shri Ganesh did that Bhilani gets freedom from the curse. It is said that Karva used to worship Shri Ganesh Maharaj on every Chaturthi. She earnestly prayed to Ganesh Maharaj that how I felt this curse and how I would get rid of it. Shri Ganesh Maharaj told her that after fasting, you had food without giving food to your husband first.

This cursed you. Due to this, your husband is also suffering from leprosy. If you want to get rid of this dosha, then on the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha, you will have to keep a fast and worship your husband. Only then you can get rid of this blame and your husband will also be healthy. Karva fasted in the manner described by Shri Ganesh Maharaj. Lord Ganesha was pleased with this and he cleared the blame for Karva. Also blessed that in the future, I will protect your marriage and of all married ladies who will worship you before worshiping me. Since then, this tradition has been going on.
