Kaal Bhairav, the form of Lord Mahadev, who is known as the Kotwal of Kashi keeps devotees away from evil eyes, distress, and problems. Nearly five decades after this temple of Kaal Bhairav, a rare incident occurred when the Kalevar means Chola was completely broken and separated from his Deity. However, even 14 years ago this incident happened partially. According to belief, Baba leaves his camp when he is suffering some loss on himself.

The area from the temple of Kotwal Baba Kal Bhairav of Kashi, located in the Bhairav Nath area of Varanasi to the Ganges Ghat Panchganga resonated with the sound of ghanta-gharial and damru. In the form of the Shobha Yatra, various devotees and temple priests were carrying heavy Kalka Bhairav's Kalevar on their shoulders and then reaching the Panchganga Ghat and sitting on a boat immersed the Kalevar in the Ganges.

Actually, it was Kalevar Baba Kaal Bhairav who has completely separated from Baba's Deity 14 years ago, partly 50 years ago in 1971. After immersion, Baba was once again mixed with wax and vermilion and after the aarti performed in the traditional way, the court was opened for the common devotees. While giving further news about this, Naveen Giri, the administrator of Kaal Bhairav temple, said that Baba Kaal Bhairav had completely left his family 14 years ago, partly 50 years ago in 1971.
