Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha nominated Prof Nilofer Khan, Professor Department of Home Science, as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir on Thursday.
"I Manoj Sinha, Chancellor, University of Kashmir, hereby appoint Professor Nilofer Khan, Professor, Department of Home Sciences, University of Kashmir, as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir for a period of three years with effect from the date she takes over the charge," the Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat said in a notification issued this afternoon. The terms and conditions, it stated, would be communicated individually.
Professor Talat Ahmad, an earth scientist, was replaced by Khan, whose three-year term expired in August 2021.
