Kashmir University organises sports events as part of 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav'

SRINAGAR: The "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebration to mark 75 years of independence was continuing at Kashmir University on Saturday.

The University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Neelofar Khan, launched the School of Law's awareness campaign titled "Background and Importance of National Flag" on Friday.

Addressing a gathering, she asserted that the teachers and students of law schools should do more to educate the public about the significance of the nation's national symbols and events. Every person has a responsibility to honour the national flag, she said.

Three law students presented papers on the historical perspective of the Tricolour, National Flag Code and the Naveen Jindal Case.  A special monetary award for the student speakers was announced by the vice chancellor.
