Srinagar: The killings of Hindus and Sikhs in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have once again refreshed the horrific picture of the 90s. While there is an atmosphere of grief in the houses of the deceased, other non-Muslims have either been imprisoned in the house or are preparing to leave Kashmir. Dozens of Kashmiri Pandits are seen leaving their homes in Sheikhpurura. In some areas, Kashmiri Pandits are also shying away from leaving the house. There are some who did not leave their homes even 30 years ago, but the latest incidents have frightened them.

On the other hand, the market was also affected by this fear. The market remained closed in the evening after two teachers were killed. Those who courageously opened the shop also closed by evening and returned home. In view of the fear among Hindus and Sikhs in the Valley, the administration has given 10 days leave so that they either stay in their colonies till the situation returns to normal or stay with their families in Jammu or any other city outside Kashmir. Police are evacuating non-Muslim employees from each school and department and arrangements are being made to evacuate them to safer places.

Non-Muslim employees working in rural areas are being sent to Army Kent or other safe places. Security has been beefed up across Kashmir. Searches are being conducted everywhere. Non-Muslim fields have been removed from duty. Information in this regard has been sent to each Department and instructions have been issued that non-Muslims should remain indoors. Some media reports claim that 23 families have migrated from Kashmir to Jammu. Speaking on the issue, Prof. Hari Om said that Kashmir is beginning to look the same as in 1990. About two dozen families have fled Kashmir last night. Many of them are government employees. He said the terrorists have a conspiracy to evict non-Muslims from Kashmir.
