Kashmiri student missing from Noida in Pakistani jail: Family

Srinagar: A student of a private university in Noida, who had gone missing on December 12, 2018, has been found languishing in a Pakistani jail. The student has been identified as 23-year-old Syed Wahid who went missing on December 12, 2018.

Syed’s father has told police that he recently received a call from Pakistan and an inmate released from the Pakistan jail informed him that his son was lodged in the jail.

The call was allegedly made from an inmate who was released from the jail. He claimed that he was told by Syed Wahid to inform his father back in India that he was in a Pakistani jail.

The family belonging to north Kashmir had lodged a complaint with the police in Noida.

"There is one more complaint filed in Jammu and Kashmir regarding a student being missing since December 2018. We have also filed an FIR," Vaibhav Krishan, SSP Noida, told India Today TV. He added: "We are investigating the case and verifying the details."
