Today i.e. on Tuesday, NC leader and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah also attacked the BJP fiercely. He said that, whether there is an election or not, we are not beggars. I keep saying that Kashmiris are not beggars. Election is our right, but we will not beg to get this right.

Omar Abdullah said that the people of Kashmir are being evicted from their lands. The BJP-led central government knows that an elected government will try to heal people's wounds, while they only rub salt into them. Abdullah also claimed that the government's decision to arm village defense guards was an admission of failure in view of the recent terrorist attacks. He said that while revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP's claim that "gun culture will reduce" proved to be a lie.
