Top-seeded Katerina Siniakova from the Czech Republic secured her place in the WTA Guangzhou Open semifinals after a straight-set victory over American player Bernarda Pera on Friday. Despite an early setback when she lost her serve in the first set’s third game, Siniakova regained control, defeating Pera 6-4, 7-5 in just one hour and 25 minutes on the hard courts in Guangzhou, China.

In other quarterfinal matches of the WTA 250 event, Italy's Lucia Bronzetti achieved an impressive win over third-seed Wang Xiyu of China with a score of 6-4, 6-1. Serbia’s Olga Danilovic triumphed over Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew 6-4, 6-4, while Caroline Dolehide from the United States advanced after defeating Spain's Bouzas Maneiro 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.

In women’s doubles action, top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Shuai Zhang of China made it to the final after a decisive 6-3, 6-1 win over Hungary’s Anna Bondar and Belgium’s Kimberley Zimmermann. They will compete against the winner of the second semifinal match between England's Emily Appleton and China’s Qianhui Tang, and Poland's Katarzyna Piter paired with Hungary's Fanny Stollar, scheduled for Saturday.
