Nowadays, it's normal practice to employ musical software and auto-tune to correct the tempo and tune of songs. Nowadays, all an artist needs to perform at a 2016 event is a "good attitude."

Recently, a video in which Kavita Krishnamurthy spoke out about the rampant use of technology in recording songs for Bollywood went viral. Speaking about this she says, "I was at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore to speak about my life and about how recordings used to be done earlier. And last night I realised that parts of that talk had gone viral on social media. I got texts from friends on it!"

Aaj kal, sur, etc. sab theek kiya ja sakta hai; bas gaane mein expression aur attitude zaroori hai, says the singer who has given us hit songs like Hawa Hawai, Tu Cheez Badi Hain, Dola Re Dola, Nimbooda, Bin Tere Sanam, and others. "Once Khayyam saab and I were judges for show. "Gaane mein attitude ki kya kaam agar sur aur taal hi nahi hai," Khayyam ji has said. And when I spoke that day, I was thinking about these occurrences.

‘’I didn't aim to offend anyone at all, and I wish to avoid any controversies. We change along with shifting trends. I believe that you can use technology if it may be helpful. I've had bronchitis my entire life, and there have been days when it got to the point where I had to take antibiotics and cough medicine before I could perform on stage. Technology is useful in situations like these. My one and only argument is that while you should use technology to some extent, you shouldn't rely entirely on it. You should never cease being able to sing without technology. Using technology shouldn't lead to a reduction in practice or attention to sur and taal.. It is of utmost significance to any singer. You should first improve your abilities and self-worth before using technology.

Since the 1970s, Kavita has been involved in the music business. She has performed songs in a variety of languages, including Odia, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, English, Telugu, Urdu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Nepali, Konkani, Assamese, and Punjabi, among others. She has contributed her vocals to a number of well-known Bollywood songs, including Tumse Milkar, Hawai'i, Tu Hi Re, and Koi Mil Gaya. She collaborated on several tracks for Lucky Ali's album Gori Teri Aakhein.
