NUR-SULTAN: In the midst of the ongoing upheaval, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev claimed on Friday that constitutional order has been mostly restored in all regions of the nation.

"The counter-terrorist operation is now in full swing. The law enforcement agencies are putting in a lot of effort. In most areas, the constitutional order has been restored "During a meeting with the President's Administration, the Security Council, and law enforcement agencies, Tokayev remarked.

"Local officials are keeping an eye on the situation, but terrorists continue to use weapons and attack civilian property. As a result, the counter-terrorist operation will continue until the militants are completely destroyed "According to Sources, the President said.

According to the presidential press service, Tokayev has signed a number of decrees aimed at further stabilising the situation in the country. According to numerous sources, violent protests in Kazakhstan, particularly in Almaty, the country's largest city, have resulted in multiple deaths in recent days.  On Wednesday, Tokayev accepted the resignation of the cabinet and requested assistance from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

The presidential press service announced on Friday that a joint CSTO peacekeeping team had arrived in Kazakhstan to help preserve order, stressing that they were only there for a limited time to secure the security of vital installations.
