HYDERABAD: The TRS government has prepared a 172-page 'success report' showcasing the welfare initiatives and development programmes it conducted for the benefit of the citizens as Telangana State turns eight on June 2 and Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) completes his eight years in office.

According to the report, initiatives such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Aasara pensions, Kalyana Laxmi, Shaadi Mubarak KCR Kits, and others have benefited huge segments of the state's people.

On Thursday, the eighth anniversary of Telangana's formation will be commemorated with a grand celebration at Public Gardens. On Tuesday, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar inspected the full dress rehearsal. In the morning that day, the CM would raise the national flag and pay tribute to the Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park. He will provide the state's eight-year development report, while ministers will present district-specific progress reports in their respective districts.

Since 2018, 60.83 lakh farmers in the Kharif season and 63 lakh farmers in the rabi season have received Rythu Bandhu twice a year at a cost of Rs 5,000 per acre. According to the report, the government has so far transferred Rs 50,447 crore into farmers' bank accounts.

Over 26.60 lakh farmers have access to free electricity 24 hours a day, seven days a week, thanks to a government investment of Rs 30,155 crore. 35.64 lakh farmers have been covered under Rythu Bima, and the government has paid LIC a premium of over Rs 14,000 crore on behalf of the beneficiaries. The programme aided 80,861 families whose farmers had died for a range of factors. These families were each awarded Rs 5 lakh in compensation, totaling Rs 4,043 crore.

Notably, the government supplied 81.60 lakh sheep to 3.88 lakh people under the free sheep distribution scheme.
