NEW DELHI: K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is in the national capital as part of a week-long journey to attend national political and social events.

Rao, who arrived in the city on Friday, is expected to hold a series of meetings on May 21, according to government sources. According to an official announcement, he will meet with political, media, and economic experts, as well as provide assistance to the families of troops who have given their life for the country.

Rao will also meet with bereaved farmers' families who have lost loved ones in the "battle for farmers' rights" against the Centre.

He will begin his Chandigarh tour on May 22 in the afternoon. He will meet 600 families of farmers who gave their life during the nationwide farmers' agitation against the now-repealed disputed farm legislation, as previously announced.

He will give each family Rs 3 lakh as financial support. According to the statement, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, his Delhi and Punjab counterparts, will handle the check distribution.

Farmers' families from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi will be eligible for getting assistance.

KCR will arrive in Bengaluru on May 26 to meet with former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. The following day, he would go to Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra to meet campaigner Anna Hazare. He'll next fly to Shirdi to give Sai Baba prayers before returning to Hyderabad the same day.

He will travel to West Bengal and Bihar on May 29 and 30 to meet the families of the soldiers who killed in the Galwan Valley battle. According to the press announcement, he will assist those families.
