Hyderabad: K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, and Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, have pledged to collaborate in the fight against the country's "divisive forces." Thackeray is said to have given Chandrashekar Rao his full backing in his efforts to forge an anti-BJP coalition.

Chandrashekar Rao reached Mumbai on Sunday to meet with Thackeray to discuss national politics and form an anti-BJP coalition ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At his official mansion "Varsha," Chandrashekar Rao had a two-hour luncheon meeting with Thackeray.

Rao later said at a joint press conference that their states were practically brothers because they shared a 1,000-kilometer boundary. Rao stated that a start had been made, but that an action plan would be decided only after meeting with all other interested groups and leaders. He indicated that a conference of these leaders would be held in Hyderabad or any other place to further discuss, consider, and come up with a specific action plan in the country's best interests.

"You will soon notice a positive outcome of our encounter. In a few days, we'll meet in Hyderabad or somewhere else to talk more. I extend an invitation to Uddhav Ji to visit Hyderabad and Telangana. I'll be talking with leaders from all throughout the country."
