Kedarnath Temple is located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state of India. Kedarnath temple in the lap of the Himalaya Mountains in Uttarakhand is one of the Char Dham and Panch Kedar along with being included in the twelve Jyotirlingas. The doors of the Kedarnath Temple were closed at 8:30 am on Thursday, for the upcoming winter season. The Panchmukhi Doli of Kedarnath will be taken to its first stop in Rampur, after which it will reach the Vishwanath temple in Guptkashi on Friday

The Portals of Gangotri shrine, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand have been closed for the winter on the occasion of Bhai Dooj as the Char Dham yatra is in its last stage. While speaking about Badrinath, It will close on November 19, bringing the yatra to its culmination for the season. So far 6,24,371 pilgrims have visited the Gangotri shrine as per the data released at 8.30 am on Tuesday.

The closure of the Gangotri shrine for six months, devotees will be able to worship Goddess Ganga at Mukhba village, during her winter stay. The doors of the temple were closed at 12.01 pm after offering prayers to the goddess amidst Vedic chants.  After the closure of Yamunotri portals, the idol of the Yamunotri goddess will leave for Kharsali village for its winter abode. 

At Kedarnath, the palanquin of the deity will leave for Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, its winter abode, and stay there for six months. The president of the Badrinath and Kedarnath temple committee Ajendar Ajay said that the portal of the Badrinath shrine will close on November 19 at 3.35 pm this year and the Utsav Murti of Lord Badrinath will be shifted to Narsimha Temple at Joshimath in Chamoli district where the devotees can offer prayer for six months.

As of now there is no announcement about when will it reopen, Kedarnath Dham Opening Date is 2023 yet not announced, but it is expected that Shri Kedarnath Temple will reopen on Mid of May in 2023. As in 2022 it opened at 7 th of May. The opening date of Kedarnath temple will be announced on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
