Your gorgeous white sneakers are battling against dirt and dust. They always seem to attract muck and somehow get dirty, no matter how careful you are and how you protect them. Well not to worry here are ways you can keep them sparkling throughout.
Use white vinegar for those stubborn stains
Dip a cloth in vinegar and gently rub the stains away, leaving them as good as new.
Use a toothbrush
Use an old toothbrush to rub stains that are hard to reach. Dip the toothbrush in soapy water and scrub them white.
For oil stains
When you get home, use your gentlest shampoo, warm water, and a toothbrush or rag to gently wipe at the oil smudge.
Diluted – bleach
Mixing one part bleach to five parts water, any more than that and you risk turning your white fabrics a weird yellow tone. Dip your toothbrush in the diluted bleach solution and scrub the shoes gently. Rinse with warm water when you're finished.
Tips to remember
Avoid sun exposure
Don't leave your white sneakers outside. They're already getting enough UV exposure as it is which can lead to fading and unwanted discoloration. Treat them well and store them in a cool, dark place when they're not being worn.
Don’t put in the washing machine
Even on the gentle cycle, a washing machine is a bit too rough and tumbles for sneakers.
