New Delhi, India: Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi chief minister, announced on Saturday that his government will extend the free ration distribution scheme in the national capital for another six months. His announcement came a day after the Centre said there was no plan to extend the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana's free foodgrain supply (PM-GKAY).

In a Hindi tweet, Kejriwal said, "The Delhi government is extending its free ration scheme for six months." "Inflation has gotten out of hand." Even the average person finds it difficult to eat bread twice. Corona has caused many people to lose their jobs. "Please, Prime Minister, extend this scheme of providing free rations to the poor for another six months," he added.

In addition, the Delhi Chief Minister requested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi extend the scheme to those in need for another six months, citing inflation and unemployment as reasons.
