New Delhi: Asia's largest Ghazipur Chicken Market has opened again. Since morning, the bulk buyers of chickens are continuing to arrive. In view of the threat of bird flu, the Delhi government and MCD had banned the sale of chickens. Later, when all the reports came negative, the government and corporations withdrew the ban on Thursday.

In the chicken market, the businessman Mohammad Jahid told media that he was all with government decisions. The work was stopped immediately after the order came. Thereafter, the bird flu was examined, which was reported to be negative. Then CM Arvind Kejriwal immediately lifted the 10-day ban imposed on Ghazipur chicken market. The work has started from today. The chickens are now sold. The General Secretary of the Delhi Meat Merchant Association, Irshad Qureshi told the media that there are no more orders of chickens coming up in the Mandi.

He said that now small shopkeepers selling roosters and meats in different areas of Delhi are buying raw materials from Mandi. Hotel and restaurant owners will wait a couple of days as people will also be careful or avoiding eating chicken amid reports of bird flu. The people can cook the chicken properly at home, but the sale will increase only after the demand comes to the restaurant or hotel.
