'Kejriwal should resign', BJP protests against AAP over liquor scam

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday staged a massive protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) offices in Delhi over the liquor scam. BJP workers were demanding the resignation of CM Arvind Kejriwal over corruption allegations during the protest. The BJP has launched a scathing attack on Kejriwal for questioning the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) supplementary charge sheet in the case, saying it proves he was involved in corruption. During the protest, there was also a clash between BJP workers and police. BJP workers had come with placards and raised slogans against the Kejriwal government during the protest.

The ED has filed a supplementary charge sheet in the Delhi liquor scam. In the charge sheet filed in Rouse Avenue Court, the ED has said about a video call. The call was made between Sameer Mahendru, owner of Indosprit, and Arvind Kejriwal. In this, Kejriwal told Mahendru that Vijay Nair is his (Kejriwal's) man. The ED has claimed in its charge sheet that Kejriwal had asked the businessman to work closely with AAP communications in-charge Vijay Nair. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal has termed the claims of the investigating agency as fabricated.

According to a report, the ED claims that AAP used the money received from the alleged Delhi liquor scam for an election campaign in Goa. The Goa Assembly elections were held in 2022, in which the AAP won two seats.
