NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat starting on Sunday. He will also hold a meeting on "free electricity'' and also administer oath to the newly-appointed party office-bearers, a party leader said here.

Kejriwal said on Saturday that he will engage with party members and meet with senior AAP leaders during his two days in Ahmedabad. Elections for Gujarat's 182-member Assembly, which will be held by the end of this year and will be dominated by the BJP, are being prepared for by the Kejriwal-led party.

Kejriwal will arrive at Ahmedabad Airport on Sunday around 3 p.m.  He will administer oath to 7500 newly-appointed office bearers at a programme at 4 pm. They will take pledge to work whole-heartedly for the party and promote workers for the upcoming Assembly election,'' AAP's national joint secretary Isudan Gadhvi said.

Nearly two weeks after the party started a statewide uproar seeking free electricity for household consumers from the BJP administration, Kejriwal said he will hold a town hall on "free electricity" on Monday.

''For the people suffering due to inflation, AAP govthas launched a 'Muft Bijli' campaign. If people in the national capital and Punjab can get free electricity, then why not those in Gujarat?'' Kejriwal asked.
