Punjab: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister, joined a demonstration of contractual teachers in Mohali, Punjab, on Saturday. The teachers are demanding numerous things, including regularisation of their services. If his party wins power, Kejriwal also vowed to introduce a transfer policy for teachers and to provide them with cashless medical treatment.

Kejriwal just announced the commencement of 'Mission Punjab.' In light of the forthcoming elections, the AAP chief will travel around Punjab in the coming month as part of 'Mission Punjab,' announcing the party's plans for the state and its people.

During his previous visit to Punjab, Kejriwal remarked at a press conference, "We will enhance Punjab government schools in the same way that we have improved Delhi government schools; no other party knows how to do it. I guarantee that I will fix many instructor difficulties on an emergency basis." He also launched an eight-point election platform to improve the state's education system, including regularising contract teachers' services.

In the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, the Congress obtained an absolute majority with 77 seats, deposing the SAD-BJP government after ten years in power. The Aam Aadmi Party came in second with 20 seats in the 117-member Punjab Legislative Assembly. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) received only 15 seats, while the BJP received three.
