The 28-year-old Reigning Olympic champion, Perez Jepchirchir of Kenya, has won the women's Boston Marathon. In the men's section, Kenya's Evans Chebet has become the winner. Chebett has won the race in 2 hours 6 minutes 51 seconds. Compatriots Lawrence Cherena (2:07.21) and Benson Kiproto (2:07.27) have come in second and third places, respectively. This is the first time since 2012 that all the three places in the men's category have come to Kenya's account.
