Kerala: A 63-year-old man from Alappuzha in Kerala was allegedly administered two doses of vaccine on the same day. The family of the elderly man has alleged negligence on the part of the health authorities and claimed that he was facing medical issues after two vaccines were given to him in a span of a few minutes. Taking note of the incident, Alappuzha DMO has sought a report from the hospital authorities on the issue and has assured appropriate action.

The incident took place in Karuvatta Primary Health Center on Monday where Bhaskaran, a resident of Karuvatta in Alappuzha, had gone for vaccination.  The PHC had one registration counter and two vaccination booths.

As per reports,  the man along with his wife reached the Primary Health Centre, Karuvatta, to receive their second dose of Covishield vaccine around 11 am. After getting the second dose from counter one at the health centre, he went to counter two where he got inoculated again. The incident came to light when he talked to his wife following 30 minutes of mandatory rest.
