Kerala: 8 people reached from 'high risk' countries found negative for Omicron

Thiruvandapuram:  According to state Health Minister Veena George, eight out of ten samples of COVID-19 positive people who arrived in Kerala from 'high risk' countries proved negative for the virus's Omicron variant. She stated in a press release that the results of two samples are pending.

A sample from a person who arrived in Kozhikode from a high-risk nation and tested positive for COVID-19 has also been forwarded for testing. The Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology is testing the samples for Omicron. Omicron genetic testing are being performed on samples of travellers from high-risk nations who tested positive for COVID-19 in RT-PCR tests, according to the minister.

According to the release, the samples that tested negative were from people in Kozhikode (2), Malappuram (2), Ernakulam (2), Thiruvananthapuram (1), and Pathanamthitta (1). Even if the initial results were negative, the minister stated that there should be no lack of attention.
