Centre concerns over daily rising cases of corona in Kerala and Maharashtra

New Delhi: While the corona seems to be slowing down in the country, the daily affairs of Maharashtra and Kerala have suddenly added to the problem. Rising positivity rates and active cases remain a headache for the government. The Home Ministry is also extremely concerned due to sudden increasing cases. Ajay Bhalla of the Ministry has written to the state and Union Territory governments in this regard.

In a letter to the states, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has directed the administration to take steps for pro-active maintenance for districts, areas where there is a high positivity rate. He termed the localized approach as necessary and said appropriate steps have to be taken to identify and control the signs of a surge in infection. The Home Secretary has also been instructed to take appropriate measures to avoid congestion in view of the festive season.

The Home Secretary has also asked the state and union territory governments to be strict at the local level if necessary to prevent large crowds. He has also said that we should follow tests, tracks, treats, vaccinations, and corona suitable practices for effective management of corona. Corona appropriate behavior must be applied to control the corona.
