Mallapuram: An accident took place in the Poongod gallery collapse Malappuram area under Malappuram in Kerala. According to the information received, the temporary gallery built on the side of the ground collapsed during a football match. In this case, the local police say that more than 200 people were injured in the accident. Five of the injured are in critical condition. The case is said to have taken place last Saturday. Police said all the injured have been admitted to nearby Wandoor NIMS, Nilambur District Hospital and Manjeri Medical College. Apart from this, the police also said that the incident happened at around 9 pm when the final match was being played between two local teams. The temporary gallery was reportedly accommodating over 1,000 spectators, however, news agency PTI has said that around 2000 people were present at the spot.
