THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is now receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic in the United States, presided over the weekly cabinet meeting remotely on Wednesday morning.

With the Covid situation in the state undergoing rapid change, Vijayan informed the cabinet that rigorous protocols must be followed. He stated he will be at the Covid review meeting on Thursday, where the current rapid spike will be thoroughly reviewed.

According to a source close to the situation, his colleagues inquired about his treatment at the online cabinet meeting, and he responded that everything is good.Vijayan left here on January 15 for the United States, where he is due to arrive on January 29.

In contrast to his first term (2016-21), when he gave over charge to E.P. Jayarajan, the then Industries Minister, after he went for treatment, he did not hand over charge to any of his colleagues when he left for the US.
